These days movies have been finding it hard to release and then sustain a good run for a weekend. As the audience have grown completely intolerant towards average work, they are expecting the best entertainment from every film. During such times, if a movie collects double the investment in first week itself, it should be called a blockbuster without any doubt. Vijay Devarakonda’s Geetha Govindam has emerged a blockbuster by collecting Rs. 38 crores for an estimated investment of Rs.15 crores including Publicity and Print charges.
The movie made Rs. 7 crores share even on Monday and Tuesday, combined, which means the movie held up really well. Vijay and Rashmika pair is widely accepted too. With Varalakshmi Vratham, Bakrid and Rakshabandan holidays, the movie seems to be all set to be first 50 crores (share) earner for Vijay.
