Garividi Lakshmi Movie Review & Rating!

Garividi Lakshmi is a film based on the life of North Andhra singer Reddy Vijayalakshmi. Produced by People Media Factory, the film has attracted attention with its promotional content. Let’s see if it meets expectations.

Garividi Lakshmi Story: Lakshmi (Anandhi) suffers emotionally after her mother Devudamma (Raasi) separates from her father. Married at just 12, she returns home after being cheated by her husband. Despite having no formal education, Lakshmi has a natural talent for singing and learns to perform Burrakatha.

She becomes popular across North Andhra with the support of Satyam (Rag Mayur) and later starts her own troupe. Though she loves Satyam, she avoids marriage. However, her mother’s death and betrayal by trusted people change her life. The rest of the story follows her struggles and the recognition she deserves.

Performances: Anandhi delivers an outstanding performance as Garividi Lakshmi, making the character completely her own. After nearly 13 years, she gets a powerful role in Telugu cinema and does full justice to it. Naresh also gives an excellent performance, while Rag Mayur performs well.

However, the actress playing his wife feels miscast. Ankith Koyya, Shakalaka Shankar, Sharanya Pradeep, Raasi, Avasarala Srinivas, LB Sriram, and Viva Raghava deliver decent performances in their respective roles.

Technical Aspects: Garividi Lakshmi is an emotional biopic that highlights the struggles of a talented folk singer. Director Gowri Naidu presents her journey effectively, with an engaging first half and a touching second half. Charan Arjun’s music and the cinematography are major highlights.

Analysis: Garividi Lakshmi is a refreshing and authentic attempt to tell the story of a forgotten artist. The film highlights her struggles and helps the current generation understand the lives of such talented performers.

Verdict: Garividi Lakshmi is a refreshing, emotional biopic that honors a forgotten folk artist and deserves appreciation for its honest storytelling and authentic presentation.

Bottom Line: A heartfelt tribute to a forgotten folk artist.

Rating: 3/5
