Reputed Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubhai Kathiawadi was earlier scheduled for a January 6th release. Starring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles, the film’s distribution rights are bagged by Pen Studios banner.
But as SS Rajamouli’s prestigious project, RRR is scheduled for a January 7th release, the makers of Gangubhai Kathiawadi have postponed the film’s release to February 18th. Reportedly, as Pen Studios also owns the distribution rights of RRR’s Hindi version and satellite rights, the owner Jayantilal Gada has somehow convinced Sanjay Leela Bhansali in postponing Gangubhai Kathiawadi.
Responding to Gangubhai Kathiawadi postponement, Rajamouli tweeted”The decision by Mr. @JayantilalGada and Mr. #SanjayLeelaBhansali to move the release date is well appreciated. Our heartfelt wishes to #GangubaiKathiawadi..:)”.
