Gangubai Kathiawadi trailer: A powerhouse

The much awaited trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, has been rleeased today. Starring Alia Bhatt in the titular role, Gangubai Kathiawadi is a story loosely based on the real life Gangubai from Kamathipura, who was forced into being a sex worker, and how she rose to power, overcoming all the difficulties she faced.

The trailer gives the audience a glimpse into the colourful world that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has created for the film, with his trademarks seen all over the trailer. Alia looks fierce in her role, and her character arc seems to goes through various stages of life, from a young girl who was forced into her profession, to a woman who has not only embraced that profession, but has tried to make a difference for others like her.

On the whole, the trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi gives the audience a glimpse into the powerhouse of a film that is loading. Produced by Jayantilal Gada and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai also has an extended cameo from Ajay Devgn, and is all set for a grand theatrical release on February 25th.
