‘Game Changer’ Bollywood Deal, Here’s the Latest Buzz

In the second half of 2024, several big-budget pan-India films are set to hit the screens, starting with Pushpa 2. However, one film that hasn’t generated much excitement among audiences on is Ram Charan‘s “Game Changer,” directed by Shankar. Despite the star power of Ram Charan and the presence of Kiara Advani, the film hasn’t created the buzz one might expect it.

There are a talks of selling distribution rights, with AA Films reportedly acquiring. the North India rights for Rs 75 crore. This deal could be profitable for the makers, but it puts pressure on the film to perform well at the box office, especially in the Hindi market.

For distributors to break even, “Game Changer” needs with gross around 150-160 crores net in Hindi, a challenging but feasible target. The success benchmark is set around 125 crores, while surpassing 180 crores would classify it as a superhit. Given the lack of major Hindi releases in 2024, there’s heightened interest in Telugu films like “Game Changer.”

Dil Raju’s team chose AA Films for distribution, aiming for wide theatrical release during the Diwali weekend. Anil Thadani’s bet on the Hindi market for Telugu movies underscores the potential of regional cinema to capture nationwide attention in the absence of the big on Hindi releases.
