The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has come forward to support actor Rajpal Yadav who is facing serious financial and legal problems.
Recently he was sent to Tihar jail after failing to repay money in a cheque bounce case. FWICE has now requested people in the film industry to help him financially.
In a statement FWICE asked filmmakers with actors and well wishers to offer monetary support. They said donations can be given directly to Rajpal Yadav or through FWICE.
Several actors like Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have shown support.
The issue started long years ago when Yadav borrowed money to produce Ata Pata Laapata. After the film failed he struggled to repay the loan which is leading to a long legal battle and court action.
