Every year the Indian government is announcing film awards in the name of the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Awards. The awards are named and honored after India’s first movie director Dadasaheb Phalke who made the first Indian Cinema Raja Harischandra in 1913. Like every year this year also, the government has honored the winners at the grand event on February 20th in Mumbai. At the awards event, Indian movies, artists, and technicians got awards.   • Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry: Rekha

Legendary Bollywood actress who acted in more than 180 plus films has been honored with Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry Award at Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival Awards 2023. In her filmy career, Rekha acted in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movies prominently.

  • Outstanding Contribution In The Music Industry: Hariharan

Hariharan, the renewed singer who sang more than 15,000 songs in 10 plus Indian languages was honored with Padma Shri award in 2004.

For the 2023 year Dadasaheb Phalke Film Awards, Hariharan got Outstanding Contribution In The Music.

  • Best Film – The Kashmir Files

The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri bagged the Best Film award at Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival Awards 2024. The Kashmir Files explores the hardships of Kashmiri Pandits Genocide in the later 90s in Jammu & Kashmir.

  • Best Director: R Balki for Chup: Revenge of The Artist

Dulquer Salman starrer Chup movie is a classic hit of the year 2022. R Balki is the director who made this thriller. A Balki got the best director award. This movie is promoted as a tribute to Guru Dutt.

  • Best Actor – Ranbir Kapoor for Brahmastra: Part1: Shiva.

Ranbir Kapoor got the Best Actor award for his Shiva role and screen presence in the Brahmastra movie directed by Ayan Mukherjee. The film also has Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna in key roles.

  • Best Actress for Alia Bhatt for Gangubai Kathiawadi

Alia Bhatt received the Best Actress award for playing Gangubai role in Gangubai Kathiawadi directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

  • Most Promising Actor – Rishab Shetty for Kantara

Rishab Shetty got the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his terrific performance in Kantara movie. The film is based on the folklore of Karnataka.

  • Best Actor In A Supporting Role – Manish Paul for Jugjugg Jeeyo

Anchor and Actor Manish Paul who played a prominent role in Jug Jug Jiyo bagged the supporting role award at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards.

  • Best Web Series: Rudra: The Edge of Darkness

Rudra: The Edge of Darkness, the psychological thriller starring Ajay Devgan, Raashi Khanna and other bagged the best Indian Web Series award.

  • Critics Best Actor: Varun Dhawan for Bhediya

Varun Dhawan bagged critics choice award for Creature -Comedy flick, Bhediya.

RRR, the sensational global hit bagged the Film of The Year award at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023. The Naatu Naatu Song from the RRR movie nominated for Oscars 2023 is a well-known fact.

  • Most Versatile Actor Of The Year: Anupam Kher for The Kashmir Files

Anupam Kher got the Most Versatile Actor Of The Year award for playing a Kashmiri Pandit role in The Kashmir Files.

  • Best Male Singer: Sachet Tandon for Maiyya Mainu

Maiyya Mainu sung by Sachet Tandon got the award in Best Male Singer category at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023.

  • Best Female Singer: Neeti Mohan for Meri Jaan

The soothing melody Meri Jaan from Gangubai Kathiawadi won an award in the Best Female Singer category at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023.

  • Best Cinematographer: PS Vinod for Vikram Vedha

Reputed cinematographer PS Vinod who worked on films like Tees Maar Khan, Panjaa, Manam, Ala Vaikuntapurramulo and Oopiri has bagged the Best Cinematographer for his work in the Hindi version of Vikram Vedha.
