After making a great debut with ‘Kala’, Babil is once again seen on the OTT platform. Following the footsteps of his father, the late actor Irrfan Khan, Babil has well known how to make fans crazy with his acting. Today on September 1, his film ‘Friday Night Plan’ has been streamed on Netflix. Let us know how this film is!
Story: The story of Friday Night Plan is mainly about two brothers. Elder brother Sid (Babil) is good at studies and is called a bookworm by all. Whereas his younger brother Adi (Amrit Jayan) is very mischievous. Both brothers love each other very much but they always keep fighting with each other at home. Apart from studies, Sid is also very interested in sports. One day, he becomes a hero in everyone’s eyes by scoring a brilliant goal in school football. Only that is being discussed everywhere. Meanwhile, the school students plan the most fun party of the year.
Meanwhile, Sid and Adi’s mother (Juhi Chawla) has to go out for some important work. She consoles both of them and leaves them alone at home. But still, both the brothers plan to attend the party after their mother leaves. Now after the departure of the mother, will both the brothers be able to attend the party? What happens to them on Friday Night? You will have to watch the film to see this.
Performance: Babil Khan is very good in the character of a school child. He has played the role of a good school student as well as sports and mother’s darling. On the other hand, if we talk about Juhi Chawla, she has been such an actress who always surprises the audience with her performance. Every time something new is seen in his screen presence. Amrit Jayan has also done a great job according to his character. His bubbly and mischievous demeanor as the younger brother will endear him to the audience.
Technicalities: This is Vatsal Neelakantan’s debut film, and he has tried his best to make the best out of his school experience. Neelakantan’s direction infuses a dynamic energy in the film which keeps the audience engaged from beginning to end.
Analysis: Friday Night Plan is a movie that reminds us that we need stories that are easy and make us feel comfortable amidst stories that “wonder” and move us. The music of the film is possibly slow which will take some time to develop, but it is definitely interesting and not something that one can ignore.
Verdict: Even though the film is relevant and entertaining, it is only good for one viewing. While the film attempts to convey light-heartedness in a good way, the balance between the two seems up and down at times. The transitions between comic scenes and deep reflections could have been smoother, adding to the emotional resonance of the film. Overall, the film is okay but it could have been made better.
