RRR’s Naatu Naatu won an Oscar last month, and the BJP is now using it to highlight their accomplishments in Karnataka.
With less than a month till the election for the Karnataka state assembly, one can feel the political heat in the air. The election is just another celebration in the colorful country of India. In the midst of it, the BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party), which is renowned for its creative campaigning ideas, has created a song to highlight its accomplishments under the leadership of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by adapting RRR’s Naatu Naatu song.
The RRR song Naatu Naatu made us proud when it won the Oscar for “Best Original Song” last month. The award was given in recognition of the achievements of composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose. Now, the BJP is effectively attracting votes ahead of the state assembly election in Karnataka by utilizing this catchy music.
K Sudhakar, the health minister for Karnataka, recently tweeted a political parody of Naatu Naatu. The phrase “Naatu Naatu” is changed to “Modi Modi” in the song, which discusses major construction initiatives including the Shivamogga Airport, the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, metro lines, and other welfare initiatives that have been completed or are in the planning stages in Karnataka under the leadership of the BJP government.
In the meantime, Telugu Indian Idol 2, which is available on the OTT platform aha, will have Oscar-winning Telugu lyricist Chandrabose as a special guest. The Top 9 contenders will have Chandrabose’s support on April 14 and 15, according to the 100% local OTT platform.
Speaking about the same, the Oscar-winning lyricist said, “For the episode’s best performer, I will be giving away the pen that I used to write the lyrics for ‘Naatu Naatu’. I hope this serves as a token of inspiration for all the contestants and encourages them to continue pursuing their passion for music
(Note that the BJP has not formally declared it to be their party’s election campaign anthem.)
