Omkar gave a memorable hit movie with Raju Gari Gadhi and he waited to decide on his next. Even though many advised him to start a movie immediately after the success, he wanted to select the right story to make a right movie with right cast. After, a year he was able to convince Niranjan and PVP for his next film and with their insistence he approached Nagarjuna Akkineni for his film. Nag liked the narration and accepted immediately. As earlier sources have revealed the movie is not a sequel or a continuation but franchise wannabe film, trying to create something like Dhoom series, with some main characters returning with a new story and thrills.
Raju Gari Gadhi 2 will see Nag playing a gifted person who can read people’s minds contrast to their outter personality. The movie will have two heroines romancing Nag and other details will be revealed as the shoot progresses. Today, 27-Nov-2016, the movie is officially started in Annapoorna Studios with a pooja ceremony and director, Raghavendra Rao clapping and directing the first shot on posters of various gods. Talking to the media, PVP said he is excited to produce a big film with Nagarjuna after Oopiri and asked for the media to support the film. Abburi Ravi, the dialogue writer revealed that Nag will be seen in one of his different and best roles of the career.
Omkar asked media to wait for the movie team to be ready to reveal further details about the characters and he wished the movie will kick start a popular franchise in Telugu of horror comedy thrillers. Thaman confirmed that he will be scoring for the movie and this will be his third with Nag after Ragada and Greekuveerudu. Not much details about other cast are revealed by the technicians and producers. They kept requesting to wait for the right time. Nag talking about the movie said he is glad that even though he is aging, he is able to get good roles as a lead. He added saying, he would like to make each and every one of his film that he is going to do as a lead to be special for him and Telugu audience.
He said he wanted to do a movie exorcist in Telugu and he hopes that this movie can be such good thriller for Telugu people. About his next movie, Om Namo Venkatesaya, Nag said that the shooting for the movie was over last week with the song and the post production work can take time as it involves lot of CG work and for RR MM Keeravani asked for 2 months. So, he said if the movie releases in February that would be an achievement for the entire crew. He said they are looking and working hard towards releasing the movie in Feb only. He concluded saying, “This is the first big movie to be announced after Demonetization and we have no problems regarding cash and payments” .
