Varun Tej is trying to establish himself as a box office hero and the actor needs a good big hit to be able to deliver on his promise he has shown in his previous films. Even though he gained a good amount of following with Mukunda and Kanche, flops like Loafer and Mister did not help his cause at all.
All his hopes are centred on his new film, Fidaa in the direction of Shekhar Kammula who made movies like Godavari, Happy Days and Anand. After Leader and Life is Beautiful, even Shekhar decreased his speed and just made one film, Anamika with Nayantara. This film is said to be a complete feel good love story. Malat Teacher aka Sai Pallavi from Malayalam Premam has been cast as the lead actress in the movie. The shoot has been halted post Varun’s injury for recovery.
So the movie is delayed from its original February release dare to further date. Now, the source from the shoot revealed that the movie shoot has been completed and only patch work is in balance. Even the remaining one song will be competed by June last week and movie first copy will be ready by 3rd week of July. As off now, the team is gearing up for a July release.
