After receiving criticism for replacing Shah Rukh Khan as Don in the third installment with Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar has finally spoken.
A few days ago, Farhan Akhtar sparked a social media frenzy by releasing the first image from his next movie Don 3. The long-awaited movie has had fans on their toes with frequent updates that frequently made news. While many praised Ranveer Singh’s appearance as the new Don, others criticised the actor and the director for stepping in to play the primary role instead of Shah Rukh Khan. The fans reacted violently to Farhan’s Don 3 teaser shortly after it was released.
The actor-director previously disclosed that SRK consciously chose to leave the Don franchise in order to make room for fresh stars. Additionally, it was claimed that RS’ name was proposed as the new Don by the superstar.
Farhan Akhtar has now addressed trolls and the abuse Ranveer Singh and he received for Don 3 in the most recent interview. He admitted that he had encountered a comparable response when Shah Rukh Khan was named the new Don in place of Amitabh Bachchan. Farhan praised the Gully Boy actor and noted that the same emotional approach applied to both.
“I’m just really looking forward to getting it going,” Farhan Akhtar said. Ranveer really is incredible. He is excellent at the role. As you can expect, he is also really nervous and enthusiastic about the fact that you are filling some very huge shoes. But when Shah Rukh did it, we went through the same emotional process and everyone was like, “Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?” The whole event then took place.
It truly is about an actor coming in, owning the part, and making it really like, giving it their personality and their flair, the speaker continued. And he possesses that in plenty. He’ll therefore perform a fantastic job. I believe it is now more my obligation to ensure that the script and the movie turn out as I had envisioned.
When asked later what qualities make a good Don, Farhan Akhtar responded, “Self-confidence, flamboyance, and the ability to do anything that your mind is set on.”
