Velu Prabhakaran passed away on July 18th 2025 after a prolonged illness leaving behind a strong legacy in Indian cinema.
Known for his bold storytelling and thought full themes he broke barriers with many films.
His movies often dealt with sensitive parts such as caste discrimination and sexuality, sparking both appreciation and criticism.
His mortal remains will be kept for public homage at ‘White House’ 21st Street, Sri Krishna Nagar, Valasaravakkam from the evening of July 19th to July 20th. Everyone are welcome to pay their respects.
The cremation will take place at the Porur crematorium on Sunday evening. He is survived by his loved ones.
