F3 Movie Review and Rating!

F3 starring Venkatesh and Varun Tej in the lead roles under the direction of Anil Ravipudi has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Story-wise F3 has no connection with F2. The makers just took the main characters from F2 and explored the easy money concept in F3. What kind of activities will Venky( Venkatesh) and Varun Yadav ( Varun Tej) do to gain easy money? How is a rich businessman Anand Prasad’s ( Murali Sharma) character interconnected with the plotline? What does Harika( Tamannaah) and her family including younger sister Honey (Mehreen) have to do with the proceedings? To know that, you have to watch the film in the cinemas near you.

Performances: Venkatesh and Varun Tej steal the show with their performance. Though Venkatesh dominates with his screen presence for the most of the time, Varun Tej is equally good in his role as a guy with speech impairment problem.

While Venky’s comic timing in a few portions evoke good fun, Varun Tej surprises with his dance moves during his speeches which generates decent fun.

Tamannaah, Mehreen and all the family members are okay in their roles. Sunil did his role of Varun’s sidekick role nicely. Other artists such as Rajendra Prasad, Sampath are okay in their respective roles.

Ali evokes good fun in a few scenes. Sonal Chauhan’s extended cameo role is not designed in a proper manner. Pooja Hedge’s dance movements in the special song are good.

Technicalities: Music by Devi Sri Prasad is okay. While all the songs are passable on screen, there is nothing much to talk about the background score. The cinematography work by Sai Sri Ram is good as he showcased the iconic Falaknuma Palace with lavish setup.

Editing by Tammiraju fails to register. The production values for this star-studded film are adequate.

Analysis: Director Anil Ravipudi’s idea of continuing the F2 franchise with F3 by interlinking the proceedings with an easy money concept is good but his narrative lacks soul in it. While he tried to execute a few comic portions nicely, most of the fun episodes look like forcefully inserted.

Instead Anil and his team would have focused on writing a better screenplay at the scripting stage itself, the result would have been even better. A few outdated ideas like showcasing Tamannaah in gents getup and Sonal Chauhan trying to impress the man would have been avoided.

To summerize, F3 is a fun drama that offers nothing new in terms of providing fun to the audience. Though Venky and Varun tried their best to generate fun, the uneven scene order and aimless narrative dilutes the audience interest.

Verdict: Outdated comedy!

Rating: 2.5/5
