A few months back we reported that reputed director Sudha Kongara is planning to make a film on the life story of reputed business entrepreneur Ratan Tata. News is also that either Suriya or Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has high chance to play the titular role in the film.
Now, the latest we hear from our Chennai sources is that Suriya has given the green signal to be a part of Sudha Kongara’s film. An official announcement regarding the same is expected to be out soon. It is widely known that in 2020, Sudha Kongara’s directional project, Soorarai Pottru with Suriya had a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. Touted as a biopic on the Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath, the film received tremendous applause from all quarters.
Currently, Suriya is working on a semi-period film under the direction of Shiva is well-established news. Tentatively titled Suriya42, the film’s shooting is underway at a fast pace. Being produced by Suriya’s close aide K Gnanavel Raja, the film has Bollywood beauty Disha Patani in the female lead role. Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer for the film. After wrapping up the shooting for Suriya42, Suriya will join forces with Sudha Kongara sometime in this year.
On the other hand, Sudha Kongara is directing the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru. The film has Akshay Kumar in the lead role and its shooting is underway at a fast pace.
