Yesterday, the verdict for four Indian states such as West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and one union territory Pandicherry elections was out. Though a few noted film stars contested in West Bengal elections, all eyes are on South states where prominent faces like Kamal Haasan, Suresh Gopi, Khushbu Sundar and Udhayanidhi Stalin are seen at the battlefield to test their luck.
While Kamal Haasan contested from Coimbatore South constituency in Tamil Nadu, Suresh Gopi was in election racy from the Thrissur assembly segment from the state of Kerala. On the other hand, notes actress turned politician Khushbu Sundar and hero Udhayanidhi Stalin contested from Chennai’s Thousand Lights and Chepauk- Thiruvallikeni constituencies respectively.
But sadly, except for Udhayanidhi Stalin from the DMK party, all others artists lost their election battle. Reportedly, Makkal Needhi Maiam party founder Kamal Haasan gave a tough fight till the last and lost the Coimbatore South with a slight margin, the BJP contested Khushbu Sundar and Suresh Gopi faced a humiliating defeat in their constituencies.
