Eagle’s Exit – A Real Solution?

Recently, there have been significant changes in the force of the Sankranthi film releases in the Telugu film industry. With the withdrawal of the film ‘Eagle’ from the race, the pressure on the upcoming Sankranthi releases seems to have eased, according to the Telugu Film Chamber and Producers Council.

Despite the exit of ‘Eagle‘, the challenge of screen sharing among the films remains. Originally with three films in contention, the addition of two more has made it trickier to secure sufficient screens for each movie. This situation might disadvantage films without strong support. While some suggest spacing out the releases, the current lineup sees ‘Guntur Kaaram‘ and ‘HanuMan‘ scheduled for Jan 12th, ‘Saindhav‘ on the 13th, and ‘Naa Saami Ranga‘ on the 14th after ‘Eagle’s’ exit.

‘HanuMan’ faces difficulties due to prior commitments for a North India release, making it hard to change its date. Even with ‘Eagle’ out, securing enough theaters for ‘HanuMan’ seems challenging, as ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ and ‘Guntur Kaaram vie for screens previously allocated to ‘Eagle’. Despite this, ‘Saindhav’ and ‘Guntur Kaaram’, distributed by Dil Raju in certain areas, might not face significant screen count issues.

With ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ gaining support and ‘Hanu Man’ receiving fewer theaters, the scenario appears more optimistic for the former. The distribution of screens among these films remains a critical factor affecting their success, even after ‘Eagle’s’ departure from the Sankranthi race.
