Eagle Movie Unexpected Struggle at the Box Office

Eagle, the latest action thriller starring Ravi Teja, hit screens last Friday to mixed talk from critics and audiences. However, People Media Factory, the studio that bankrolled the film, claims the film is faring well at the ticket window. Anyone with a basic idea of trade knows that a film’s performance on its first Monday is crucial for becoming a ‘hit’. In simple terms, it’s a litmus test for the project at the box office.

Eagle (2024), an action drama film starring ‘Mass Maharaja’ Ravi Teja, received a lukewarm response from audiences and critics post-release. Despite the low buzz, the film posted decent opening numbers at the box office.

However, as predicted by trade experts, it witnessed a huge drop in footfalls on the first weekday Monday worldwide and is headed towards a cost-failure. Weak promotions, Ravi Teja’s present form, and mixed word-of-mouth could be the main reasons for the film’s crash at the ticket window.

The Eagle film, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, has a low breakeven budget of 23 crore INR. So far, the picture has recovered only 50% of its investment, indicating that it will be a massive box office flop. Ravi Teja, who has recently suffered several disappointments, has started the year with yet another failure.
