Dull opening for Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj

It is widely known that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s period war drama, Samrat Prithviraj had a theatrical release yesterday alone with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Adivi Sesh’s Major. Opened to mixed word of mouth, as per the trade reports, the film registered below-par collections at the ticket windows on its first day.

Reportedly, Samrat Prithviraj has witnessed Rs 10.5 crore ( Nett) on its first day which is below-par collection considering Akshay Kumar’s star status. If the same momentum continues, the film will surely struggle to post decent numbers during the first weekend.

This period drama loosely based on the life story of King Prithviraj Chauhan has 2017 Miss Universe title holder Manushi Chhillar as the female lead. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj also stars Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt in crucial roles.
