Plot: Drishyam 2 starts where the first part ended. A new IG has been appointed in the village and he starts investigating the murder of the cop’s son which was a sensation. George Kutty (Mohan Lal) and his family are again well prepared for the investigation. The village conspires that the murder was done by George Kutty’s family.
What happens next in the film is the rest of the movie. Will George Kutty’s cover-up will be blown away?
Performances: Complete actor Mohan Lal again has given a commendable performance. George Kutty will be loved once again. His performance is subtle throughout and that’s the beauty in his performance. He has very little to speak but his expressions are top-notch. This film is another example of why Mohan Lal should be the G.O.A.T of acting in Indian Cinema.
Meena has supported Mohan Lal very well. Her role is designed well as a struggling mother and wife. The two children Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil are grown up now and so are their performances. Murali Gopy has got a very important role and his performance is excellent. The rest complimented very well.
Technicalities: Jeetu Joseph has once again proved that he is the master of thrillers. He has written and directed the film and he is one of the main highlights of the movie. The twists he provided in the second half are mind-blowing. The cinematography is very good. There is only one song in the film and that was shot very well. Editing is adequate. The music work is flawless. Jeetu Joseph has succeeded in getting the right output from every technician.
Analysis: Drishyam 2 is the perfect sequel for the first part. We cannot ask for a better sequel. While the first half is a little bit slow, the proceedings create interest. The entire second half is the major plus and the last 30 minutes give a cinematic high. This movie should have been released in the theaters for a more cinematic experience. Nevertheless, Drishyam 2 is a film that one should not miss.
