Do you know Ranbir Kapoor Stopped Smoking for this Movie ?

The Brahmastra actor played a mute guy in the movie, which also starred Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz.

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most gifted actors of this generation, and he has been leaving his mark on the movie business with each part that he takes on. Did you know that he gambled with the film’s director, Anurag Basu, in the 2012 drama Barfi, which cost him his smoking habit? Barfi established him as a major actor. According to sources, he and Basu agreed that RK would have to give up his habit if the movie made more money than this amount.

The Brahmastra star played the character of a mute person in the movie, which also starred Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz. Ranbir and Priyanka received numerous awards for their performances, and the movie went on to become one of their most well-known pieces of work.

Anurag Basu repeatedly advised Ranbir Kapoor to stop smoking throughout the making of the movie, but he was unable to do so. As a result, they made a wager with RK’s smoking as the subject in 2012, following the release of Barfi. According to it, Ranbir would have to stop smoking if the movie made more than Rs 70 crores.

It worked out well for Anurag Basu since after the movie passed the 70 crore milestone, he convinced Ranbir Kapoor to give up smoking. The movie was deemed a success when it earned 120 crores at the Indian box office.

According to sources, Ranbir Kapoor messaged Anurag Basu about losing the bet and said goodbye to his smoking habit when Barfi passed the predetermined mark.

But if one’s memories are accurate, Ranbir Kapoor and Raees actress Mahira Khan were once seen smoking together in NYC, and photos of the two of them bonding while smoking went popular on social media in about 2017. This amusing fact about RK related to his movie Barfi is really fascinating. It may have been a brief slip-up.

After Barfi, Ranbir and Anurag reconnected for Jagga Jasoos, but sadly, the film’s box office success was not as successful.

Ranbir Kapoor last appeared in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar with Shraddha Kapoor; his next film, Animal, starring Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is set to hit theatres this year.
