Do you Know Jumma Chumma Needed an Approval from Jaya Bachchan?

Do you know that Jaya Bachchan supported the Jumma Chumma hook-up dance whereas Amitabh Bachchan thought it was offensive?

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has starred in a number of box office hits. The performer demonstrated that age is just a number and that, if you want to, you can always stay relevant with his outstanding work, setting a standard for upcoming actors. The actor is renowned for his dedication and sincerity to his work. Today, we provide a flashback to when he requested that one of the steps from his well-known song Jumma Chumma be changed because he thought it was offensive.

Jumma Chumma, a well-known song, was famously taken from the movie Hum, which starred a number of actors, including Rajinikanth, Govinda, Shilpa Shirodkar, Annu Kapoor, Danny Denzongpa, Anupam Kher, and Kader Khan. It’s interesting to note that Chinni won the Filmfare Best Choreographer Award the following year for the Mukul Anand-directed movie. But did you know that when Big B was pretty upset about one of the song’s steps, Jaya Bachchan had complete faith in it and assured him that it will be successful.

In an interview, Chinni, the choreographer of the song Jumma Chumma, discussed one of the dance moves that Amitabh Bachchan thought was particularly offensive. He said, He (Amitabh) saw the hook step I did for Jumma Chumma and said, ‘It is vulgar. What are you doing? It looks bad.’ I said we could try something different, but then he suggested we could try the steps and could leave out later it if it did not look good.”

Amitabh Bachchan was later informed by Jaya Bachchan that the step she thought was vulgar was actually the ideal move. The dancer disclosed what she stated,“This is the best step, people will not forget this.” Chinni further added, “Jaya Ji felt the hook step would become a hit. Even if Amitabh was not really okay with the hook step, it was Jaya ji who said the hook step will be remembered by everyone even in the upcoming eras. She even asked Amitabh Bachchan to retain the hook step in the song.”

Along with Deepika Padukone and Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan will soon be seen in Project K, and he also has a number of other projects in the works.
