It is widely known that Dil Raju is the leading producer cum distributor in Tollywood. Apart from producing films with all leading stars in Telugu, Dil Raju is even known for acquiring the distribution rights of big and medium-range films.
Currently, Dil Raju is directly or indirectly associated with almost half a dozen films that are aiming for a theatrical release this year. Yesterday, news came out that Dil Raju has acquired the theatrical rights of Nani’s Dasara. Earlier, the rights are with the originally with Chadalavada brothers. Trade reports suggest that the Chadalavada brothers acquired Dasara theatrical rights for Rs 24 crore but after the first look teaser was released Dil Raju bagged the rights by offering Rs 28 crore.
Now, the latest we hear is that Dil Raju even acquired the theatrical rights of upcoming films Custody and #BoyapatiRAPO from the production house Srinivasaa Silver Screen owned by Srinivasaa Chitturi. Though the deal details are not yet revealed, the scenario hints that Dil Raju’s monopoly is continuing in Tollywood.
It is well-known that #BoyapatiRAPO is an action drama in the combination of mass entertainers specialist Boyapati Sreenu and hero Ram Pothineni. On the other hand, Custody starring Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty as the lead pair is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual being directed by Kollywood director Venkat Prabhu.
