Dil Raju Wants Change In Tollywood Payment System

Producer Dil Raju has shared his views on the rising salaries of Tollywood stars and their impact on movie budgets.

He said he always explains the market situation to every actor and works only with those who understand his limitations.

According to him top heroes hesitate to reduce their remuneration because they worry it could affect their image. He revealed that in a Rs. 300 crore film and nearly 35 to 40% of the budget goes to the lead actor.

Dil Raju also praised Bollywood’s profit sharing system where many stars take a share in the film profits instead of charging huge upfront fees.

He cited Akshay Kumar as an example saying the actor once charged Rs. 130 crore but now follows the profit sharing model making it much easier for producers to recover costs and ensuring greater accountability.
