A few days back news came out that a sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Geetha Govindam starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead pair is on the cards. Reportedly, director Parasuram has already started preparing the script for the project. It is widely known that Geetha Govindam, a romantic family drama collected Rs 100 crore gross at the box office. Reputed production house Geetha Arts owned by Allu Arvind produced the film.
Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that top producer Dil Raju has locked a project with Vijay Deverakonda. News is also that the film will be directed by Parasuram. Is the project a sequel to Geetha Govindam or else the team coming up with a fresh storyline? Remains to be seen.
On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda has a project titled, Kushi with director Shiva Nirvana. As Samantha’s health condition was not good, the project was kept on hold after wrapping up almost seventy percent of the shooting. As per the latest reports, the shooting for Kushi will resume in March. Being bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, Malayalam music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab is composing soundtracks for the Kushi.
Adding to the above projects, Vijay Deverakonda has a project with Gowtham Tinnanuri of Jersey fame in the pipeline. Tentatively titled #VD12, the film is being bankrolled by Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments in association with Trivikram’s wife Sai Soujanya’s Fortune Four Cinemas banner. Srikara Studios banner will be co-producing the film. VD12 is expected to go on the floors from mid-summer.
