Dil Raju cleared up the confusion about the Income Tax raids that took place at his home and other properties over the past four days. He explained that while there were many speculations in the media, nothing unusual happened during the raids. This was his first press conference after the raids.
He mentioned that IT raids on businesspeople are common, and he had faced a similar raid back in 2008. He said, “In the past 16 years, the IT officials have surveyed my financial records three times, and now they raided again”.
“Reports said money and important documents were found, but that’s not true. The officials didn’t find anything illegal”.
He also clarified that they had less than Rs. 20 lakhs in cash, which is not illegal. He provided documents to show that the money was legitimate. Additionally, he mentioned that they haven’t bought any properties in the last five years and explained all the financial details related to their film work.
Regarding reports about his mother’s health, Dil Raju said that she was hospitalized for a lung infection which caused severe coughing and denied rumors that she had suffered a heart attack. He said, “She is 81, was in the hospital for two days, and is now getting discharged. Please avoid spreading rumors”.
