Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Ranveer Singh were recently returned by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for rejecting “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.”
With the sports biography “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag,” directed by Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra, Farhan Akhtar became a rising celebrity. The movie, which also starred Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, and others, was a financial success. The Indian sprinter Milkha Singh, widely known as “The Flying Sikh,” is the subject of the movie. In his memoirs, The Stranger in the Mirror, the filmmaker recalled how Farhan got the part after Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Ranveer Singh all turned it down.
Well, the latest story makes the old one sound rather familiar. Farhan is currently making headlines once more for starring in Champions, a Hindi remake of the Spanish film Campeones and another sports movie. Earlier, it was said that the movie would star Aamir and Salman Khan.
Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra revealed the casting in his autobiography, The Stranger in the Mirror, and stated, “I presented the scenario to Hrithik Roshan, whom I have always considered as a really intense performer. ‘You’ve utterly screwed my life upside down,’ Hrithik said to me in a lovely message. He declined, though, as he was already devoting himself to his franchise, Krrish. He later said to Aamir Khan, “Yaar Mehra, this one is not for me,” as he approached him.
The director continued, “He was thrilled with the part, and so was I with his audition,” in his further remarks on Ranveer Singh. But then, for reasons I will never understand, even he passed it. I have always appreciated another artist’s choices because we all have our own creative places.
Aamir Khan is seeking for the ideal replacement for Salman Khan, according to a source connected to the Champions project, who previously told Koimoi that the remake of Champions is very important to him. The rumours of a meeting with Ranbir Kapoor were untrue. Farhan Akhtar and Aamir are negotiating for Aamir to star in Champions. As a result of Farhan’s outstanding performance in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, it makes perfect sense to him.
I should also mention that Farhan Akhtar has already read the script and is a fan. The source added that Akhtar is eager to conduct additional reading sessions for the purpose. Dates are a little difficult because he has a lot of work on his plate as a producer, director, writer, and actor. But he’s already thinking about fitting Champions into his roster for the near future,” he said.
