Daredevil actor Akshay Kumar is well known in Bollywood as Khiladi Kumar. The actor, who prefers to perform his own stunts in films, once had to be taken to a hospital in a Mumbai suburb after almost passing out during filming an action scene.
The actor came dangerously close to being hit by a truck in 2013 while filming Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, the Hindi version of Vijay’s Thuppakki.
When Akshay Kumar was filming Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty in Film City, the accident happened. According to the reports, Akki narrowly avoided being driven over and hit by a truck while filming the Hindi version of Vijay’s Thuppakki.
The truck ran over Akshay Kumar’s right foot while he managed to avoid getting struck, according to the story. The actor was promptly taken to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri after the mishap, where doctors said he had only minimal tissue damage and no serious injuries. Twinkle Khanna, Akshay’s wife, promptly made her way to the hospital to see how her husband was doing.
Speaking about the incident he said, ‘The accident took place at Film City where an action scene with a speeding truck was being shot. During the course of the stunt, the driver missed the timing. Akshay tried to get away from the collision course, but a part of the wheel ran over his toes.”
Another source revealed the actor was in immense pain. They stated, “Though Akshay is a tough man, this was quite painful. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.” Akshay Kumar was discharged from the hospital the same day and left for home with Twinkle. An associate added, “His treatment is on, but he is back home now.”
