Dhurandhar was a smash hit and broke several records. All eyes are now on the sequel, Dhurandhar-The Revenge. The film has opened to record numbers and is out in theaters now. Here is our detailed review of the film.

Dhurandhar2 Story:

After Rehman Dakait passes away(Akshaye Khanna), the situation in Lyari spirals out of control. Seizing the moment, Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), manipulates Uzair Baloch (Danish Pandor) into believing that SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt) and Arshad Pappu (Ashwin Dar) were responsible for Rehman’s killing. What unfolds next, along with the hidden layers of Hamza’s past, forms the core of Dhurandhar 2.

Performances: Ranveer Singh delivers a career-defining performance. He brings both restraint and explosive energy to the role, making the character feel real and powerful at the same time. His silent moments as Jaskirat are haunting, while his transformation into Hamza is intense and larger than life. He completely owns the film from start to finish.

The supporting cast also gets ample space to shine. Sanjay Dutt brings strong screen presence, Arjun Rampal adds a controlled and menacing touch, and Rakesh Bedi surprises with depth. Sara Arjun gets a decent role and does what is required. Madhavan is amazing in his role and gives a solid performance.

Technical Aspects: Technically, the film is impressive, with smooth camerawork, sharp editing, and a powerful background score that keeps the tension alive throughout. The music adds moments of relief and nostalgia, balancing the film’s intense tone. The production design needs a special mention and is out of the world. The lyrics are great but the music could have been a lot better especially after the super hit songs from part 1. The action blocks are solid and the manner in which action is showcased in a brutal manner is just amazing.

Analysis: Dhurandhar: The Revenge goes well beyond being a typical sequel. It doesn’t just continue the story, it expands it in every possible way. The film is bigger in scale, sharper in execution, and much heavier in terms of emotion. What the first part only hinted at, this installment explores in full depth, especially the theme of revenge, which drives the entire narrative with greater intensity.

The final act is one of the biggest highlights. Just when you think the story is heading in a predictable direction, it delivers a surprising twist that leaves a strong impact. It shows the director’s confidence in storytelling and his understanding of audience expectations.

Director Aditya Dhar makes a clear and bold decision by placing the entire film on the shoulders of Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari. This time, the film moves away from being just a geopolitical or espionage drama and becomes a deeply personal story. Hamza’s journey, from Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a sincere and idealistic young soldier, to a feared and powerful figure, and eventually reconnecting with his roots, forms the emotional core.

This constant shift between identities gives the film a unique and slightly unsettling depth, making it more engaging. The storytelling is aggressive and intense. Unlike the first film, which focused more on infiltration and setup, this one is about destruction, planned, precise, and relentless. The film also blends real-world references with fiction, making the narrative feel grounded and relevant.

Verdict: Overall, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a bold, loud, and unapologetic film. It is not subtle, but it is carefully designed and highly engaging. The action drama lives up to all the hype created and commands a big screen watch as films like these are rarely made.

Bottom Line: Full on action packed entertainer
