Promotions play a key role in a movie’s success especially in today’s digital age. However many Telugu films still follow old promotional methods that no longer excite audiences.
Most producers limit their campaigns to a trailer launch, a pre-release event, a press meet and a few interviews with the media and influencers.
In a recent interview, producer Dheeraj Mogilneni spoke about this outdated approach. He said that many producers don’t understand film marketing because it’s not part of their filmmaking education. According to him, unless movies are promoted in a unique and engaging way audiences won’t come to theatres.
He further explained that spending money alone isn’t enough, a producer must know how to market the film.
He also pointed out that some actors skip promotions which affects a movie’s reach. He concluded by saying that innovation in promotions is the only way to grab the viewers attention.
