Nitin worked with prominent directors like Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and many more throughout the 20 years he spent in the Hindi cinema industry. For films like Devdas, Lagaan, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and others, he designed fantastic sets.
According to a recent report, Nitin Chandrakant Desai, who was only 58 years old, has transitioned from this world to the home of angels. He reportedly committed suicide in his Karjat studio. The brilliant work of Nitin Chandrakant Desai was showcased in the films Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai (2010). Even the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire’s set was made by him. For his exceptional invention and set design, he received numerous national awards.
In 2005, Nitin established his ND Studios in Karjat, which went on to become a famous location for films like Jodhaa Akhbar and even reality shows like Bigg Boss. He reportedly performed a puja at his studio last month and was also busy working on the Ganesh Chaturthi pandal’s decoration for Ganpati mandal Lalbaugchya Raja.
