Delhi High Court Grants Relief To Vivek Oberoi

The Delhi HC has given strong legal relief to actor and entrepreneur Vivek Oberoi by stopping the unauthorised use of his name, voice, identity and other things.

Vivek approached the court after his identity was widely misused on digital platforms through fake social media accounts, AI-generated images and altered content. The court noted that his long career and public recognition give his name and likeness high value that deserves protection.

The interim order bans anyone from using Oberoi’s identity for personal or commercial purposes without permission, including through AI, deepfakes and face-morphing tools.

Major platforms like YouTube, Meta, and X were directed to remove such content within 72 hours. The court also stopped the sale of unauthorised merchandise using his image. The judge said allowing such misuse could cause serious damage to Oberoi’s reputation and professional credibility.
