Deepika Padukone, one of Indian cinema’s top actresses, took a maternity break after completing Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had initially approached her for his film Spirit, but she wasn’t ready to commit at that time. Due to delays in the film’s schedule, she was contacted again and has now signed the project.
Deepika is charging a record Rs. 20 crores for Spirit, making her the highest-paid actress in Bollywood today. This is also her highest fee for a film so far.
Spirit is an action drama in which Prabhas plays a powerful police officer. Details about Deepika’s character are being kept under wraps to maintain suspense. The film’s shoot is expected to begin in October.
Produced by T-Series and Sri Bhadrakali Films, Spirit also features music and background score by Harshavardhan Rameshwar. With big names attached, the film is already generating a lot of buzz.
