Veteran director and very important person of Telugu Film Industry, who is regarded as the Guru, Teacher for many of those who started their career in 1970’s and 80’s. The man had given life to many and through out his illustrious career directed 152 movies and won many accolades. He is ardent fan of legends Akkineni Nageswara Rao, SV Ranga Rao and Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao. He directed memorable films with them and achieved box office success too. He entered politics and served as a Rajya Sabha member from Congress. He was also a Minister of State from Central Government. He did a lot of work for the upliftment of the junior artists and many crew members considered as labour on a set. He is regarded as the person who responds with heart to many problems and work towards acquiring a rightful solution amicable to everyone.
He has been from several years announcing his concern about theatres and issues about distribution of medium budget movies. Many agreed with his concerns and tried to work towards a solution. But the age seems to have gotten better of him. He announced that he will be producing and directing few more important films this year but he is struggling with few health issues. He was hospitalized in KIMS last night due to multiple organ failure and he is on a supportive system. To control the chest infection surgery will be done on him. The doctors from KIMS hospital have released a bulletin this morning stating his condition as critical and he is responding to treatment. All his fans and industry are praying for his speedy recovery!
