Nani and Keerthy Suresh’s rustic drama, Dasara set in rural backdrop has hit the screens today.Lets see how it fares.

Story: Set in ninty time frame, the film revolves around the lives of three friends Dharani( Nani), Keerthy Suresh(Vennela) and Suri (Dheekshit Shetty). On the other hand, the lives of people Veerlapally

Revolves around silk bar and coal mining. What happens when local politics crosses paths with unavailable situation, forms crucial crux.

Performances: Nani is outstanding in his role as Dharani. His rustic makeover and massive massy transformation are major highlights of the film. Keerthy Suresh is impressive in his village belle role. Her dialogue delivery adds a realistic tone to the proceedings.

Apart from Nani and Keerthy Suresh it is Dheekshith Shetty makes his presence felt with his classy act.

The Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has yet another key role in the movie. He is commendable in his limited screen presence as one of the friends.

Other artists who played friends roles are impressive in their limited yet pivotal roles.

Samuthirakani is wasted as his screen time is limited.

Technicalities: Sounding-wise, the film is alright but definitely not up to the mark. Santosh Narayana’s music register at parts but could not continue to the mood throughout.

Cinematography by Sathyan Sooryanis is a visual delight as his rich frames reflext the mood of the film.

Technical the film has a strong padding and is case with the production design work for the film.

Editing work is dull at parts. Dialogues written in Telangana delicately add realistic texture to the film.

Analysis: Firstly, Srikanth Odela definitely has potential to be the next big thing from TFI. Cinematography is top-notch. BGM is good in a few parts but there were a lot of scenes that could have been elevated which the music director fails to do so hence it can be termed as one of the biggest drawbacks of Dasara.

To summarize, though the pace is mostly slow and a few parts feel stretched out, the drama has worked for the most part with some good sequences and well done climax. Nani’s career best performance. If you like raw and rustic dramas then this film will end up as a satisfactory watch toward the end.

Verdict: predictable yet gripping

Rating: 3/5
