D-Day has come for Tollywood!

Tollywood went into lockdown due to the second wave of coronavirus, and the theatres were shut as a result of it. The same thing happened during the first wave of the lockdown, The first film to release after the first wave of the lcodkwon was Sai Dharam Tej’s Solo Brathuke So Better, which released in December 2020.

Now, the theatres are reopening for the first time after the second wave, and several films are releasing today, including Satya Dev’s Thimmarusu and Teja Sajja’s Ishq. These films are going to play a major role in determining how well the audiences are responding to watching films in the theatres once again, with the threat of the third wave of coronavirus looming largely over us.

Telangana is the only state that has given permission for 100% theatre capacity, and there are several films ready for release, whose fate will depend upon how well these films do in theatres. There are good expectations on both these films, and Natural Star Nani even explained the importance and significance of watching films in theatres, and our cultural importance of the matter. It is now to be seen how the future of Tollywood will be, in terms of theatrical releases.
