Court Likely To Close FIR Against Ranveer Singh

The Karnataka High Court has accepted Ranveer Singh’s unconditional apology in the controversy related to his alleged mimicry of a character from Kantara during a public event a long ago.

The court said the matter may be closed after reviewing the fresh affidavit filed by the actor.

The case was heard by Justice M. Nagaprasanna. Ranveer’s lawyer informed the court that he had submitted a new apology without any conditions. He also promised to visit the concerned temple as a mark of respect.

The issue began after an FIR was filed during the 56th International Film Festival of India in Goa.

Ranveer was accused of mimicking a Kantara character and making remarks about the Chamundeshwari temple deity which reportedly hurt religious sentiments and offended many people.
