Court Dismisses Claims Against Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan recently took a break from his government duties to promote his film Hari Hara Veera Mallu. This led to criticism with some saying it was unconstitutional.

Former IAS officer Vijay Kumar even filed a petition, claiming Pawan misused government funds and machinery for film promotions. He also argued that since Pawan is the Deputy CM, he should not be acting in movies.

The AP High Court, however, clarified that there is no law stopping a Chief Minister or minister from acting in films. The court also said it cannot give any directions at this stage to file a counter against Pawan Kalyan.

Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas, representing the state, pointed out that the High Court had earlier given a similar ruling in the case of former CM N. T. Rama Rao.

Meanwhile, the petitioner’s lawyer alleged that Pawan influenced ticket pricing and requested the court to summon related records.
