Even after ten years as a hero, Santosh Shobhan is still waiting for a solid commercial hit. After a two-year break, he returned with Couple Friendly. The film created good buzz through its promotions. Now, the big question is will that buzz turn into a hit?

Couple Friendly Story: Shiva (Santosh Sobhan) leaves Nellore for Chennai after struggling with his father’s scoldings and tries to find a job. There, he meets Mithra (Manasa Varanasi). Due to unexpected circumstances, they start living together and launch an interior designing company.

Just when life seems settled, Mithra gives Shiva a big shock. How he deals with it forms the story of Couple Friendly.

Performances: After her debut in Devaki Nandana Vasudeva, many felt Manasa Varanasi couldn’t act well. But with Mithra’s role, she strongly proved them wrong. She is relatable in the first half and emotionally powerful in the second.

Santosh Sobhan completely owns the role of Shiva, delivering one of his career-best performances, especially in the hospital scene. Rajeev Kanakala, Goparaju Ramana and Yogi Babu perform their roles effectively.

Technical Aspects: Director Ashwin Chandrasekhar’s fresh scene composition is the main strength of the film. Though some situations feel familiar, the way he handles them feels new. The dialogues are simple yet effective.

Every emotion and situation is well established, and the metaphors are presented clearly without confusing the audience. With his debut film, Ashwin scores a solid hit as both writer and director.

Dinesh’s cinematography and Aditya’s music make the film feel natural and fresh, especially with live locations. The art and production teams also did a commendable job without compromising on quality.

Analysis: Couple Friendly was promoted as a youthful entertainer, but it offers much more. The film reminds us about the value of memories and meaningful moments in life, without becoming too emotional. It engages and touches the heart at the same time.
