Could Flexible Ticket Rates Backfire On The Film Industry?
Producer Naga Vamsi requested A.P Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh to introduce a much flexible Government Order that would allow producers to fix movie ticket prices without seeking government approval every time.
The minister responded positively to the proposal. Producers believe this will make the pricing process faster and easier.
However, some trade experts feel the policy could be risky if it is misused. In the past, several films suffered because producers set ticket prices too high, expecting bigger collections.
A similar flexible pricing system introduced earlier was also not used properly. If this new G.O. is not handled carefully, it could upset audiences and also bring criticism to the government.
