Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s horror thriller, Connect had a theatrical release on December 22nd. Directed by Ashwin Saravanan of Maya fame, Connect opened to below-par reports in both Telugu and Tamil languages.
The 99 minutes film has no intermission. Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights of Connect are already sold. Reportedly, the popular OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar has bagged the digital rights of Connect by offering a fancy price. Inside reports suggest that as the film is carrying below-average talk, Disney Plus Hotstar management is planning to stream Connect during the first week of January.
The lack of novelty in the script is the main reason behind the underperformance of the film at ticket windows. Noted Tamil director cum Nayanthara’s husband Vignesh Shivn bankrolled Connect. The film also has Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher and Vinay Rai in key roles.
