Dharma Mahesh, known for playing the lead role in Drinker Sai is facing controversy after his wife lodged a complaint against him.
She approached Hyderabad police claiming that Mahesh and his family were demanding extra dowry. Based on her complaint, a case has been filed at Gachibowli Women Police Station.
This is not the first time his name has come up in such an issue, he was earlier sent for counselling over similar allegations.
Mahesh lives with his family in Fortune Towers, Madhapur. He married Gowthami in 2019 after a love relationship. With financial help from Gowthami’s father, the couple also started a hotel business.
But six years into their marriage, Mahesh allegedly pressured Gowthami again for additional dowry, which led to the police case.
Both Mahesh and his family are booked under different legal sections, and the investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile, post the release of Drinker Sai, Mahesh has been busy signing new films.
