Movie Theaters are currently functioning with 50 percent capacity all over India except for a few regions. Now, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given approval for the functioning of movie halls with full capacity i.e., with 100 percent capacity. Union Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry has issued guidelines along with the approval.
Though there is no cap on the seating capacity, theaters must note that thermal checking is mandatory. Sanitization should be done after every show and the movie timings should have some time gap so that the social distancing could be possible. Also, the audience should wear masks. It is mandatory.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar have said that they are encouraging more and more online ticket bookings where the hand-to-hand transfer of tickets could be avoided.
