Megastar Chiranjeevi got a major jolt this year with the disastrous result of his recently released film Acharya, directed by Koratala Siva. The film also featured Ram Charan in a key role, and there were huge expectations on the film, which fell flat upon release, unable to attract even the most loyal of Mega fans.
The producers of the film incurred huge losses, and in order to compensate for these losses, the team of Acharya teamed up with Amazon prime for an early streaming date. Acharya’s loss reportedly made Chiru decide that he wouldn’t have any other release this year, as it would be a huge burden on distributors. However, it looks like he’s changed his mind.
It is being said that Chiru is currently hoping to release his film Godfather, the remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer, on August 11th, if everything goes as per plan. Otherwise, the movie is expected to be released next year.
