Chinmayi strongly responded to Chiranjeevi’s recent comments denying the existence of casting couch practices in the film industry. She said that the reality today is very different from what was described.
At the success event of MSVPG, Chiranjeevi encouraged women and young girls to pursue careers in cinema.
He spoke about successful women producers like Sushmita, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt and stated that there is no casting couch culture in the industry.
Chinmayi disagreed with the view and responded through a series of posts. She said Chiranjeevi’s perspective comes from a different generation and does not reflect present day realities.
According to her casting couch practices still exist and continue to impact women trying to enter the film industry. She also referred to her own experiences and shared accounts of others to support her stand.
