Chhaava Emerges As Vicky Kaushla’s Highest-Grossing Film Ever

Chhaava had a terrific opening in theaters on Friday, February 14, 2025. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, the period action-drama, directed by Laxman Utekar, has become the actor’s and this year’s fastest film to enter the 100 crore club.

Vicky Kaushal plays Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava, while Rashmika is seen as his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. Actor Akshaye Khanna plays Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film has maintained a strong grip in its first weekend, witnessing a massive jump on Sunday, minting close to Rs 48.5 crore at the box office.

As per reports, Chhaava’s total three-day collections stand at Rs 116.5 crore net. On day 4, Monday, the film is expected to earn in the range of Rs 20 to Rs 21 crore. On its opening day, Chhaava had registered Rs 31 crore, and on day 2 it made Rs 37 crore.

With this, Chhaava has become the biggest money-maker of the year so far and Vicky Kaushal’s fastest film to enter the coveted 100 crore club. Looking at the box office trend, the historic actioner has the potential to grow on the weekdays, owing to Vicky’s impeccable performance and strong word-of-mouth.

Chhaava is an adaptation of a Marathi novel of the same name and also features actors Ashutosh Rana, Diana Penty, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Divya Dutta in key roles.
