Ram Charan Sets The Records Straight About Why He Didn’t Perform ‘Naatu Naatu’ At The Oscars

In a recent conversation, Ram Charan refuted claims that he declined to sing “Naatu Naatu” at the Oscars.

RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, has won a lot of accolades from all over the world and most recently an Oscar for the song “Naatu Naatu.” Recently, Charan was open about the movie, its success, and the fact that he skipped the song during the international award show.

Fans hoped that Ram and Trak would recreate the enchantment of their hit song on the 95th Academy Awards stage because of the buzz that the song generated, especially after it was nominated for Best Original Song. However, they didn’t, leaving fans unhappy.

Ram Charan has decided to clarify Raj Kapoor’s recent claims that he and Jr. NTR declined their invitation to perform “Naatu Naatu” at the Oscars because there weren’t enough rehearsals.

Speaking during the conclave, Ram Charan refuted allegations that he had declined to sing “Naatu Naatu” at the 2023 Oscars. RRR actor stated I was ready. I was 100 percent ready to get that call. But I don’t know what went wrong… The trope did a better job than us. We have done that for so many interviews. It is now time for us to relax

Raj Kapoor of the Oscars said in an interview with The Academy that Ram Charan and Jr. NTR were originally going to be the stars of the number, along with the singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. The performance was incredibly helpful in obtaining working permits for their crew so that they could travel to the US and play.

He added, “In late February, we were informed that Ram Charan and NT. Rama Rao Jr. would be attending the Oscars, but they did not feel comfortable performing the live number on stage. The change was brought on because of their other professional commitments and the limited amount of time to rehearse.”
