The initial plan, at the time of the release of Pushpa: The Rise, was to release Pushpa: The Rule, in December this year, by beginning the shoot of the film in April. However, the plans for the sequel seem to have changed, with the shooting schedule now having been pushed to July this year. In the meantime, Sukumar would be fine-tuning the script, according to sources, and location scouting is expected to take place.
On the other hand, music director Devi Sri Prasada has already composed songs for the film, of which three have been locked by Sukumar. Rashmika Mandanna and all the original cast is expected to return for the second film, which will focus on the conflict between Bunny and Fahadh Faasil’s characters. The film is currently said to be aiming for a summer release next year.
Bunny is expected to prep for his role in the meantime. He is also said to be keen on promoting the film extensively this time around, as he had missed out on that for the first film. The post-production works for the film are expected to be carried out at a much better pace this time, as there were a lot of complaints for Pushpa: The Rise.
