Actress Sridevi died on 24th of February and she is remembered as one of the legendary actresses of Indian Cinema. Her loss is irreplaceable and T. Subbirami Reddy, organised a condolence meet to remember her achievements in Hyderabad. Many celebrities attended the meet. Jayapradha, who is seen as her biggest rival also attended the meet. She spoke great words about her, “Sridevi is one of the rarest talents of Indian Cinema.
When we both were the hot favourites, we always had a healthy respect and competition with each other. Never did we try to demean each other. She is a cordial person. For me becoming an actress was the dream. For actresses today, becoming Sridevi is the dream,” said Jayapradha. Jayasudha another top actress from Sridevi’s time too talked about her very fondly. She said, “I saw her for the first time, with my aunty, Vijayanirmala.
I did not become an actress by then and she was already a child Superstar at the time. So, other than my uncle, Krishna garu and Aunty, Vijayanirmala, she is the first star I saw from the Industry. I couldn’t believe that she left us on the day when my phone was constantly buzzing and even today, I am unable to bear the shock. I saw her last image only once and she looked very peaceful even on deathbed.”
Legendary singer P. Susheela specially came for the meet and she said, “I sang for her in many movies and I loved the way she acted in the songs. She is an angel and she went away like an angel too.”Krishnam Raju, the popular Telugu actor, spoke about her and said, “I did not get chance to act within many movies. But she always called me Sir and showed immense respect. When we produced a Hindi remake of my film, Bobbili Brahmana, she co-operated like no one ever and I am deeply saddened by her demise today.”Allu Aravind, the producer, shared a memory of her. He said, “I met her during Jagadeekaveerudu Athiloka Sundari shooting for the first time when she is acting with Chiranjeevi garu. I thought she is really an angel. Her husband Boney is my friend and when we visited his home, she cordially welcomed us and gave me tea. I wanted to stand-up and take tea from her hands. In the car, I told my friend, Ashwini Dutt, who was with me, that I couldn’t accept her as an house-wife and told him, I wept inside. I read RGV’s letter the other day and I understood what a soft heart he had and his words about Sridevi are so true. I hope Boney and her children, who were cast away by their extended family,
will be accepted and given all the strength needed.”Many others like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sumanth, Amala Akkineni, Ali, Sivaji Raja, Nivetha Thomas also spoke at the meet.
