Celebrated set designer roped in for Chiru’s 150th!

After months of pre-production work and delays Chiranjeevi’s 150th film, being directed by VV Vinayak’s, tentatively titled Kathilantodu, the film will finally go on floors by next week. Sources from the film unit say that the famous art director Thota Tharani will be designing the sets for this landmark film.

Thota Tharani is known for his national award winning work — Mani Ratnam’s Nayakudu and Shankar’s Bharateeyudu. He has a celebrated body of work that also includes the beautiful Madhura Meenakshi temple sets that he had designed for Mahesh’s Arjun and the historic sets for Kamal’s Dasavatharam. Thota has worked for cinema across the land in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bollywood and his work serves as an inspiration to the current crop of designers. Needless to say the sets of Chiru’s 150th film will be one that we should watch out for!
